Khwai Tented Camp Description

Khwai Bush Camp offers six Meru style luxury tents, each on a raised deck, shaded by a thatch roof and with magnificent views. Each tent has en-suite facilities consisting of a bucket shower and toilet. The tents as well as the bathrooms are insect proof. The bathrooms are permanently attached to the tents and have a roof. Experienced camp staff is available during the day and evening to see to every guests’ need. The camp offers scrumptious cuisine prepared in traditional bush-style and will be served in a separate dining tent.

Khwai Tented Camp Game Viewing and Wildlife Activities

Khwai is a community run private concession, which forms the eastern border of the Moremi Game Reserve along the Khwai River. This river is the only source of water for miles attracting an abundance of wildlife. The area around Khwai is renowned to offer some of the best game viewing in Africa. Large concentrations of elephant and buffalo can be seen on a regular basis. The predator viewing is very good and guests can expect to see lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog as well as many antelope species. The birdlife is prolific in the area.
Experienced local guides at Khwai Tented camp take guests out on nature walks. This is allowed as the camp in on a private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. Night drives are also permitted in the area which gives guests a chance to spot the elusive nocturnal animals. Cultural activities at Khwai Tented camp are available. Guests can visit the old bushman village of Khwai.
