Machaba Camp Description
A classic 1950’s safari style tented camp, Nestled under the treeline of the Khwai River, the 10 luxury safari tents at Machaba Camp each has a balcony for guests to enjoy the views and the ever changing parade of wildlife from. The luxury tents are en suite with both indoor and outdoor showers. While relaxing in luxury canvas tent you will feel a sense of tranquility and isolation – created deliberately to feel like it’s just you and the bush.
The main guest areas at Machaba Camp are under canvas. The large dining area, comfortable lounge and intimate seating area and a bar offer guests various places to relax and soak up the atmosphere of camp. There is a swimming pool with sun loungers for guests to cool off in on a hot afternoon and still get to game spot! Dinners are often served outside under the stars next to a roaring fire.
Machaba Camp Game Viewing and Wildlife Activities
Situated in the game rich Khwai area of the Okavango Delta, Machaba Camp is a big game experience – Buffalo, Elephant, Lion, Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe and many different species of antelope abound. Named for the Machaba tree, which produces fruit that many animals and birds love to feed on, Machaba Camp nestles under these trees. The area offers a blend of open grasslands, seasonal floodplains and the permanent water of the Khwai River system
Machaba Camp offers guest morning and evening game drives as well as moboro trips if the water levels are high. Nature walks are also available on request. All activities are led by local experienced and knowledgeable guides.
