Chobe Elephant Camp Description
Chobe Elephant Camp is a newly built camp located on the edge of a rocky ridge overlooking the mighty Chobe River in the Chobe National Park, Botswana. Boasting sweeping views and spectacular game viewing opportunities; it’s ideal for guests seeking an authentic stay at an eco-friendly lodge. Built from timber and using renewable resources, the camp has minimal impact on the environment.
The camp can comfortably accommodate 24 guests in 10 suites and 1 family room. All the rooms are en-suite, with an indoor and outdoor showers. The atmosphere is a traditional farmstead in the midst of the African wilderness. Complete with a splash pool, communal lounge area and private veranda, it truly is a rustic escape with spectacular views over one of Botswana’s favourite game viewing areas.
Chobe Elephant Camp Game Viewing and Wildlife Activities
Located within the tribal lands of the local Sibuya people, the fishermen are often seen on the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers in their traditional mokoros. At Chobe Elephant Camp guests can go on a cultural interaction, as well has have a traditional safari experience. Knowledgeable guides will take guests on game drives in the Chobe National Park and game watching cruises along the river.
Chobe River and surrounding woodlands supports an incredible diversity of animals and has developed a reputation of being one of the great wildlife destinations in Africa. From large herds of elephants swimming in the Chobe river, zebra and buffalo grazing on the floodplains, giraffes feeding on the acacias trees and shy roan and sable antelope ghosting through the teak forests, there is always something of interest. Combine the above with some of the highest predator densities in Botswana (Lion, Leopard, Wild Dog and Hyena) and it is clear why this is such a wildlife mecca.
