Afrika Ecco Mobile Safari Description
Afrika Ecco Mobile Safaris takes its adventurous guests deep into some of the most exceptional areas of Botswana, demonstrating the diversity of landscapes and watching animals at their most primal. Each night, camp is set up in a different, scenic location so guests open their tents to a different view each morning.
Traditional, canvas dome-style tents are khaki green and equipped with mosquito-mesh windows and a shade cover in front creating a rustic ‘patio’. Blending in with the bush and leaving no tracks, this is the most eco-friendly way to experience the Delta. Guests are able to much more surreptitiously observe the wilderness from their modest accommodation.
Dome tents are setup with individual, ensuite bathroom tents that contain within their canvas walls, bucket showers and eco-toilets. In the bedroom part of the tent are 2 stretchers with mattresses, duvets and pillows for comfortable sleeping.
Afrika Ecco Mobile Safari Game Viewing and Wildlife Activities
The safari experience at Afrika Ecco is all encompassing in that it offers game activities for both land and water. The routine at Afrika Ecco Mobile Safari can be tailor-made to suit the guests, so that daily schedules are built around what the guests would most like to do. In water-rich areas like the Okavango Delta, half the experience is on the water. The water-loving wildlife gathers at the full rivers and there is no telling what action might take place. Lions have adapted to hunting buffalo in water in this area!
The Delta is renowned for its abundance of predators. Following in the footsteps of the grazing herbivores, a list of feline and canid predator species can be spotted on any one of the activities while on a mobile safari. African wild dogs, are sometimes called painted dogs or Cape hunting dogs, can sometimes be seen in the Okavango Delta these are very specialised predators and they are sadly endangered, so seeing them is something memorable.
Of course, the lions of the Delta are famous for their ‘swimming’. Lions in this region are big and strong and have become highly adapted to hunting buffalo in the water, which is a phenomenon of nature and evolution. In addition to lions, there are leopards, cheetahs, caracals, jackals, civets, spotted hyenas, and many more.
