  • Large open & airy tented lounge & tented dining room, built on raised platforms.
  • Landscape view from pub & dining area.
  • Evening campfire.

  • 5 East African style tents on raised decks sleeping a total of 10 guests.
  • 1 Honeymoon tent.
  • All tents have verandas overlooking the floodplains with spectacular views.
  • En-suite facilities with an outdoor shower.

Game Viewing


A variety of habitats ensures diverse and interesting game viewing, as well as spectacular birding. Wildlife seen here includes Elephant, Lion, Zebra, Red Lechwe, Giraffe, Tsessebe, and Wildebeest on the floodplains. Kudu, Impala, Leopard and Bushbuck are also seen in the forested areas. During our winter months, the water levels rise and the floodplains become covered with water, permitting water activities. The variety of bird life is impressive with dry land species seen on the large islands and all the wetland birds seen on the floodplains and waterways.


Wildlife Activities


Activities at Tubu Tree Camp include day and night game drives in open 4 x 4 vehicles, as well as walking with an armed guide. When the Okavango's annual flood is at its highest (normally May to late September), boating, fishing and mokoro trips are also offered.


  • Land game drives in open 4 x 4 Land Rovers.
  • Private vehicle available on request.
  • Night drives with spot light.
  • Walking Safaris are offered from camp on a request basis.
  • Mokoro excursions.
  • Boating (subject to water levels permitting its use).
  • Fishing on a catch and release basis (can book fly fishing with specialist fly fisher Grant. This must be booked prior to travel). Basic rods & reels supplied by camp but fly fishing equipment to be supplied by guest.
  • A raised hide located about 20 minutes from camp.
  • All game activities are lead by a professional guide.

How to Get there


ExpertBotswana can arrange flights to Botswana from Johannesburg or Cape Town into Maun or Kasane, where most safaris start and end. Transfers from Maun/Kasane are done by light aircraft into the camps Inter-camp transfers are done by light aircraft, road, boat or mokoro.

Child Policy


Children over the age of 8 years are welcome.


Electricity


  • Camp has 220v generator powered electricity run in kitchen and main areas when guests are not in camp.
  • When guests return from daily activities, generators usually switched off (for peace in camp).
  • 220v Battery power (charged by the generator) is used for lighting & fans in each guest tent 24hrs/day.
  • Video battery can be charged when guests on game drives. Hence bring spare battery, adaptor and charging unit.
  • No facilities for hairdryers and electric shavers

Malaria is found in the central, western and northern areas of Botswana.
