Camp Description
Little Kwara Camp is a completely separate camp from Kwara. The tents are spacious, and are elevated into the tree canopy on wooden decks each with its own private veranda. Each tent has its own en suite facilities comprising bathroom with bath and an inside/outside shower. This is an ideal camp for exclusive use by small groups and families.
Game Viewing
The Delta is world renowned for its biodiversity and contrasts. The area offers spectacular scenery with scattered herds of plains game and predators. Due to the labyrinth of waterways, islands, seasonal flood plains and bush, Little Kwara is always interesting and varied. Night drives are a highlight and up to 30% of interesting mammal species are mainly active at night. These include leopard, lion, wild dog, hyena and smaller predators.
Wildlife Activities
Little Kwara offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a diverse wildlife experience all year- round with the emphasis on water activities. The presence of permanent water at Little Kwara ensures excellent year-round game viewing. The permanent water also ensures that mokoro trips (dugout canoes) can take place in shallow water throughout the year. Guests can also visit the famous Godikwe lagoon in the Moremi Game Reserve where guests can enjoy close up viewing of thousands of herons, storks and other nesting birds. Boat cruises, fishing, guided bush walks as well as morning and evening game drives are also available.
How to Get there
ExpertBotswana can arrange flights to Botswana from Johannesburg or Cape Town into Maun or Kasane, where most safaris start and end. Transfers from Maun/Kasane are done by light aircraft into the camps Inter-camp transfers are done by light aircraft, road, boat or mekoro.
Child Policy
Children between 8 - 12 years old are welcomed at full rate, all year round but must book a private vehicle or use the family safaris guides. Younger children are accepted with exclusive camp bookings. This service is subject to availability at the time of booking.
Electricity
- The camps do not have mains electricity.
- General lighting is therefore from paraffin oil lamps.
- However each tent is provided with a battery powered reading lamp in the evening.
- There is a flashlight provided for each tent.
Malaria
Malaria is found in the central, western and northern areas of Botswana.
