Camp Description


Shaded by giant ebony trees, the magnificent Moremi tree lodge is an elegant elevated thatch and timber structure consisting of a main lounge, wildlife reference library, dining room and stylishly decorated cocktail bar cooled by overhead punkah-punkah fans. The large sun deck affords an unsurpassed view of Xakanaxa Lagoon. A secluded swimming pool, covered boma and elevated observation platform assures Camp Moremi of its status as one of Botswana's finest destinations.


  • 11 East African-style safari tents sleeping a max of 22 guests.
  • Situated on raised teak platforms.

Game Viewing


Camp Moremi includes a diverse habitat that supports a wide variety of animals, with possible sightings of Wild Dog, Cheetah and Leopard being highlights. Resident species include Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Hippo, Giraffe, Hyena, Zebra, Kudu, Red Lechwe, Sable and Roan Antelope and many more. Bird watching is excellent throughout the year, with powerboat visits to the heronries on Godikwe and Xakanaxa Lagoons a must, especially in the summer months.


Wildlife Activities


  • Big Game: track big game on morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles with experienced resident naturalists.
  • Feathered Friends: bird watching is excellent throughout the year, so spend time exploring the Xakanaxa Lagoon with its prolific birdlife.
  • Motorboat Safaris: explore the myriad waterways of the Okavango by motorboat.

How to Get there


ExpertBotswana can arrange flights to Botswana from Johannesburg or Cape Town into Maun or Kasane, where most safaris start and end. Transfers from Maun/Kasane are done by light aircraft into the camps Inter-camp transfers are done by light aircraft, road, boat or mekoro.

Child Policy


No children under 12 years are accepted.


Electricity


  • Generator power (AC 220V) is available during the day and evening.
  • Video batteries can be re-charged.
  • Tented accommodation is equipped with a 240-volt AC plug for hairdryers (which are supplied at the lodge), and 12-volt DC lighting for night-time use, after the generator has been switched off.


Malaria


Malaria is found in the central, western and northern areas of Botswana.
