Camp Description
The camp consists of 6 luxury semi permanent tents containing a double bed, en-suite bathroom, separate toilet and hot water bucket shower. The main area consists of a comfortable tent for dining, meeting for a pre-dinner drink, or just relaxing between activities. The camp offers a private butler service, delicious Pan African meals and traditional bush dinners served under the stars. 'Savute Under Canvas' offers guests the ultimate in luxury camping.
Game Viewing
The Savute region is world renowned for its incredible predator interaction, especially between lion and hyena. The area offers some of the largest lion prides as well as elephant concentrations in Botswana and sightings of the elusive wild dog and leopard are not uncommon. In the dry season, guests have the opportunity to view large elephant bulls congregating at the waterholes. Guests will also have the opportunity to see the awe-inspiring annual zebra migration in October, November and again in March and April.
Wildlife Activities
The focus at Savute is on game drives, experienced and professional guides will accompany guests on game drives in open 4x4 vehicles to explore the beautiful Chobe National Park.
How to Get there
ExpertBotswana can arrange scheduled flights to Maun. Once guests arrive at Maun airport they will take a light aircraft transfer to Savute airstrip from where they will take a road transfer in the form of a game drive to the camp.
Child Policy
Children of 12 years and older are welcome, however if groups book exclusive use of the camp, all ages are accepted.
Electricity
No electricity is available, lighting is provided by paraffin lanterns.
Malaria
Malaria is found in the central, western and northern areas of Botswana.
