This price guide should be used to get an estimate of the cost of a safari in Botswana. The majority of our safaris are tailor made to our client's specific needs. Please kindly contact us for a tailor made safari to suit your requirements.

Please note

We recommend that you visit Botswana for at least 3 nights to maximise your safari experience, unless you are visiting Chobe from Victoria Falls, you could get away with only 2 nights. However, we highly recommend a minimum stay of 3 nights in Botswana and preferably 6-10 nights at 2-4 different camps.

What is your budget?

This is one of the most important questions to consider when planning your African safari. There are some travelers for who budget or cost consideration is not an issue, however, most clients have some sort of a budget or a specific price range in mind when they are planning their safari. There is a safari for just about everybody, however there are obviously differences in accommodation, services, transport as well as food.

The following factors will affect the cost of your safari:

• Level of luxury you choose.
• The duration of your trip.
• Choice of camps/lodges.
• Time of year or the season you will choose to travel in.

We will discuss the above factors in detail with you when planning your safari; however, it will streamline the booking process if you have a good idea of what your expectations are regarding the above. The above criteria are extremely important in helping us selecting and designing the appropriate safari for you. In general, think about what you can afford and how much you would like to spend. It is not just about getting a safari at a good price, but value for money.

General Guideline to the costs of a Botswana Safari

A basic comfortable 6 night safari to Botswana visiting 3 camps in the different areas will cost approximately US$3,700.00 per person sharing. This is in High Season. The same Low Season itinerary would cost US$2,500.00 per person sharing.

If you decide to visit luxury camps then you would need US$5,500.00 plus in High Season and US$3,800.00 to US$4,500.00 per person in Low Season

Generally speaking to arrange a High Season safari to Botswana that covers the main wildlife areas of the Okavango and Chobe for under US$3,500.00 per person is not really possible.

There are safaris in the US$2,000.00 to US$3,000.00 range, but bear in mind that these are camping safaris in 2 man dome tents.

High Season (generally July to October each year)

You should work on an entry level camp costing US$550 to US$700 per person sharing per night. The more luxurious camps cost US$800 per person sharing per night and upwards.

Low Season (generally November to June each year)

You should work on an entry level camp costing US$290 to US$330 per person sharing per night.

The prices below are the approximate costs of flying from Maun to the various camps, and then also between camps.

Booking Procedure

On acceptance of a quote we require a 30% deposit to confirm your booking. Payments can be made by Visa, MasterCard Credit or American Express Credit Cards. Other payment methods are via direct deposit/money transfer to our bank account held with ABSA Bank in Cape Town. The balance of payment is due 6 weeks days prior to arrival. Upon final payment your final itinerary, contact numbers, air tickets and vouchers will be issued.
